So, I did believe all my friends who've played Night in the Woods that it is an entire video game of "don't come for me like this" @ our nebulous generation but WOW there is hearing a thing and then experiencing that thing, and holy shit*

([profile] faypire and I are like... maybe 60-70% through?)

In addition to how hard-hitting the main plot is, I also just really like all the attention to little details, like Selmers's poetry and all the little places you can find and parkour to and investigate, the wide variety of weird minigames, and the mostly-daily conversations with Mae's parents. Also the jumping puzzles are interesting but not too hard, which is good for someone like me who is easily-defeated by jumping puzzles.

...it's also just interesting the ways in which it hits a lot of similar notes to Ask Again Later's worldbuilding, since I think it draws on a lot of similar things to AAL as far as real-world inspiration.

* that's a good "holy shit", to be clear; I highly recommend this game

Steam's having its holiday sale, so today I managed to nab both Psychonauts and the DLC for Dungeons of Dredmor for a truly ridiculous price (less than $4!!!)  I thought about getting Portal 2 but BF already has that, so that might be a bit redundant, especially having already played it.  Briefly considered getting the Half-Life bundle, too, until I realized that A) it was windows only and B) lolol you really think you're going to manage to run that on this computer.

...I can still hope for my parents springing for a new laptop? maybe?

AHAHA I THOUGHT "CURE" WAS AN ITEM

After having to restart FFIII about a billion times >_> I R smrt gamer obvs

I'm determined to actually play through an entire Final Fantasy game for reals!  I got a DS copy of FFIII for six bucks from Amazon with my extra credit from textbook sellbacks because it looked super pretty~

Oh, and I totes thought Luneth was a girl.  Actually, I'm still pretending Luneth is a girl, because he she makes a really cute one.
